So I Googled myself using "krisYEE" (since I like to tag everything with that) and my blog and Twitter comes up...then there's some dude named Kris Yee...and then I scroll down and see this...

It's a dating website and it had my blog and flickr addy on there. It even had my picture! At this point I was like WTF!? Oh hell noooo...

These profiles are created automatically and taken from Myspace. There is a button to either claim the profile or delete it. I ended up deleting it but I seriously wouldn't have known unless I Googled myself. Shit is NOT cool! Better check yours!

Breaking Bad

This show came out about a year ago and I've been waiting for the second season to start...and it's FINALLY here! There are only a few shows I actually like to follow and this happens to be one of the lucky ones.

Breaking Bad is an AMC television series about a high school chemistry teacher (played by Bryan Cranston) who finds out he has cancer. With his wife being 7 months pregnant, he partners up with an old student of his and cooks crystal meth to create more income for his family. By the end of the first season you can see his transition from a quiet family man to a bad ass drug dealer.

I can't wait until the season premiere! And NO I'm not a druggie...unless you count alcohol. Haha

Star Trek the Movie

Ok...this might sound totally geeky or nerdy but I don't care.

I'm TOTALLY going to watch Star Trek when it comes out (ahem May 8th). I never really followed the Star Trek series...but it was always on tv at home. So I watched it...but it doesn't mean i grasped the whole concept of the storyline. Haha

I was having dinner with my bro tonight and I asked him how WONDERCON was this weekend. Last Saturday I was debating whether or not to go and the only reason why I wanted to go was because I had read that there was going to be a guest appearance by someone from the Star Trek movie. I was hoping it would be Chris Pine, but I didn't think he'd be there. So I didn't go.

And of course my brother tells me he was there! UGH!

This is probably one of Chris Pine's biggest movies. The only movies I've seen him in is "The Princess Bride 2", "Just My Luck" (w/ Lindsey Lohan), and "Smokin' Aces". I was surprised (in a happy excited way, haha) to see he was playing Kirk. Some of the other cast members include John Cho (Harold from "Harold and Kumar"), Winona Ryder (Whaaa?!), and Eric Bana.

Anyways...my bro just sent me the new trailer for the movie. Peep it!

Pillow Fight SF 2009

Valentine's Day I headed downtown with Lito, Augs, and Marc to attend Pillow Fight! Marc and Lito wanted to go and so we all went for the first time. It was CRAZY but totally fun. I have a crap load of pictures but I'll only show you some of em'.

Once the clock on the Ferry Building struck 6pm, it was on!

Poor Augs lost her glasses a good minute after it started.

Ran into Tay.
We thought it'd only last like 30minutes to an hour, but Tay informed us that it went on til around 11pm last year!

Even the Red Bull chicks were there.

Feathers everywhere...feathers in our hair.

We had started drinking around 3:30pm so by the time I got home after Pillow Fight, I fell asleep around 9:30pm while the guys went to Hooters. Haha I'd suggest going next year. It's pretty damn fun. It's things like this that make me LOVE SF!

Okay, I don't have cable so I haven't been able to watch the news or anything, but I was at my parents house this morning and picked up the newspaper and started reading. I came across the article of the lady that had optuplets and is unemployed. Did I mention she already has 6 kids and supports them on food stamps?! She also gets disability payments for three of her children. Because the octuplets were born prematurely they have to stay in the hospital. In the article they were saying that the hospital had requested a reimbursement from Medi-Cal.

"...the average cost for a premature baby's hospital stay in California was $164,273, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Eight times that equals $1.3 million."

And where is all this money coming from? California taxpayers. People aren't too happy about this.

The 27th Asian American Film Festival is coming around the corner and they're looking for volunteers! I did it with my sister last year and it was pretty fun. I got to see a couple of documentaries for free and also received 2 voucher tickets for any movie I wanted to check out. They even had Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay! Snow Part Deux

Last weekend I headed up to Reno with some of my friends. On Saturday we went up to Mt. Rose to get some boarding in. I think this is the first trip I went on where we had about 20 people and EVERYONE went boarding or skiing. It was pretty awesome.

I had a cramp and was trying to stretch it out...Darrell decided to make fun of me!

So my board is treating me well. I probably could've gotten a 149 or 148 board. Maybe after a couple seasons I'll go for a park board. My friend Adrianne said she has the Nike snowboarding boots and that they're super comfortable. I may have to check those out.

I was on Twitter (the new hype, get on it! haha) and was looking at who was following me and I came across this guy named Michael Perry, a video blogger on Vimeo from San Francisco. On one of his blogs he showed a photo that was created with a tilt shift technique. It basically makes images look miniturized due to the shallow depth of the photo. He mentioned Tiltshiftmaker.com where you can upload a picture and create a tilt shift image. So of course I had to mess with it. It may be the "easy" way, but why not?! It's for fun!

Coraline

I've noticed there's a bit of a hype for this movie Coraline and I think I can see why. The movie is based on a book written by Neil Gaiman which sold over one million copies in 2002. From the director of Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas, Henry Selick brings Coraline to life. It has that Nightmare Before Christmas vibe but I think it's going to be a good movie. The movie comes out in theaters Feb 6th. If you haven't seen the trailer yet check it out.

One other thing...

Nike created a pair of dunks for the movie. If you watch the movie the day it comes out, there will be a secret password at the end of credits for you to enter to win them.

Okay, during the end of last week I couldn't figure out why I couldn't upload photos from my iPhoto onto my blog. I just found out how EASY it was to fix it. Ugh. Don't you hate when you know it's hella easy to fix something but you just can't figure it out?

ANYWAYS...I got a new snowboard!
In my previous posts I showed you which boards I wanted but they were kind of pricey for me, so I ended up with this one.It's a Salomon board I found on sale. It's a 151 free ride board which is perfect for me. I bought some Burton bindings and boots too.

This weekend we went up to Tahoe for my friend Tre's birthday. We both have new boards so we got to break em' in a little and see how they feel. It snowed Friday night when we got to the cabin so we headed up to Heavenly on Saturday and enjoyed the fresh powder.

A Walk and a Squirrel

Golden Gate Park is literally across the street from my apartment and yesterday was the first time I decided to go for a walk. Usually my walk consists of going down the street and grocery shopping at the Asian markets, hitting up Walgreens, the pizza place or the liquor store. But the weather was nice so I headed towards Stow Lake.

I sat on a bench for awhile and kicked it with the ducks. I forgot how beautiful the colors of the feathers were. It was kind of peaceful just sitting there.

I don't remember the last time I've been to Stow Lake in the day time. I used to be a summer day camp leader and sometimes we'd bring the kids here to go pedal boating. And if you live in the city then I'm sure you've heard about the "ghost" at Stow Lake. My friends and I used to always come down here late at night and freak ourselves out. Supposedly a woman's kids drowned in Stow Lake and she haunts the place asking for you to save her children. If you ever want to get freaked out you should try coming here at night.

So while I was walking along the trail there were a lot of trees and a lot of squirrels. One squirrel decided to run straight towards me. I swear it was about to attack me and then suddenly it stopped 2 or 3 feet in front of me. I really wanted to take a picture of it, but I honestly got freaked out a bit. I tried walking around it but it just continued to circle me. I know this all sounds so stupid but let me tell you, I was trippin out! We proceeded our little face off and I walked away, but every time I turned around it was still there following me! When it finally went away I called my friend Regina to tell her. I knew she'd get a good laugh out of it. Next time I'll bring someone with me and see what happens next. Those squirrels are probably so used to humans being around they're not afraid to see if we have food!

Dine About Town 2009

It's that time of year again!
Dine About Town happens for two weeks in January and gives you the opportunity to try a bunch of restaurants in San Francisco. You get to choose your dishes from a prefixed menu for a fixed price of either $21.95 for lunch or $34.95 for dinner. Did I mention it's a 3 course meal? Yep, you get to choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert!

Snowboarding Season

I'm so excited to be heading up to Tahoe at the end of the month. It's been a year since I had a weekend in Tahoe with friends! Sure we've had day trips but we haven't been in a cabin in a loooong time. For the last two years I've been saying that I want to get my own boarding gear, buuuut I still haven't done it. I keep finding boards I LOVE but they're either 1. too expensive or 2. don't come in my size. And this season I found a board I absolutely love that is too expensive.

The Burton Custom does come in youth sizes for a good price, but the sizes only go up to 145w and I'm looking for a board from 149-152. The men's sizes run from $499-$549 which is more than what I would like to spend on a board.

I think for the meantime I'm going to keep my eyes on this one. I saw this one before I saw the Burton Custom, but it was pretty expensive. I checked it again and now it's on sale! YAY!
First thing's first though...I still need to get a few more things for my apartment. Haha

My Goodbye to 2008

For the last week I've been trying to figure out what to do for NYE and it made me realize that I wasn't too excited for the new year. Last year I got to celebrate it with my close girl friends at the SF Galleria and it had to be one of the best new years ever. But this year everyone's doing their own thing.

It wasn't until today that I realized I should be excited for the new year. My coworker, Johanna, kept saying how she had this feeling that 2009 was going to be a good year and I honestly don't think I've seen anyone that excited about a new year than she was today.

I have to say I've had a pretty exciting year; great opportunities, a new school, new apartment (even though it's only been a month since I moved out!), the cruise, and a lot of great memories with awesome people. But I also had some of the bad; a friend who was shot and killed (R.I.P JD), betrayal from a person I trusted. Life isn't always fair, but we live and we learn right? I've made new years resolutions in the past and to be honest I wasn't the best at following through with all of them. But I'm starting to feel like this year is going to be different. I'm not making any new resolutions, but I am keeping ones I have already made so I can keep striving for more.

So goodbye to the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's been a pleasure 2008.

While everyone was at the Classic Bowl for FranBoogie's KingPin Bowling Tournament, I was at a Christmas potluck @ my friend's house. I arranged a kris kringle that night and Augs ended up having me! She got me a Lomography Fisheye camera and a globe ball with a peace symbol on it because I had put "peace on earth" on my wish list. Haha

Unfortunately Tina got a box of coal from her kris kringle. Hahaha

Tracy's present to Jon was by far the best one of all! She printed a picture of his face and made a cardboard cut out of him. Then she put the shirts she bought him on it as if he was wearing them. Haha

It was about midnight when I left the house and on my way home. But while I was driving I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to stop by Classic. I figured it wouldn't hurt to stop by since I knew some people that were still there. But the event was pretty much done.

Mic had left in the middle of his game, so the boys told me to bowl for him. I hit a spare! I used to be in a middle school league, but I haven't bowled too much lately. So all my practice is from Wii bowling...

Union Square

Saturday night I was going to go ice skating with a couple of my friends. But we didn't end up going because the line was super long so we just kicked it in Union Square and enjoyed the beautiful night.

None of us could decide where to go so we ended up at an Irish pub a block from my apartment. They had this thing called a "chug tower" for $30 and let me say it's well worth it! It also comes with a free side of nachos or fries! I noticed they had other specials like $2 Dollar Tuesdays and Fat Tire happy hour. If you're ever in the area, let me know!

We got my dad a Wii for Christmas. My mom and I went shopping yesterday for a couple hours and when we got back my dad was sitting in the same spot as when we left...sitting on the couch playing the Wii!

My new toy I got on Black Friday at Best Buy.

My first SLR! I was thinking about getting the Canon Rebel XSi, but I didn't feel like I needed a 12.1 mega pixel camera. So I was trying to choose between this one and the Nikon D60 which was a little cheaper. I ended up getting this one because I like Canon's and it just felt better in my hands. It was on sale and I had a $100 gift card. It was $30 cheaper online so I was planning to go back to get a price adjustment. Then on Sunday I checked online one last time before I was going to get the price adjustment and it was almost $100 cheaper! So I ended up getting $100 cash back! Woohoo!

Now I have to learn how to use it!

Happy Thanksgiving all!

This holiday always makes me think about everything I have in my life; from having a roof over my head to having wonderful supporting friends and family. I know there are times in our lives where we feel like everything is going wrong, but we have to remember that someone else might have it worse.
I must admit I've been pretty lucky as far as my life goes. My parents always supported us in whatever it was we wanted to do and never put much pressure on us. I guess that gave me the freedom to live and learn which is why I believe I always learn the hard way. I realized how thankful I am for the people in my life and those that I've crossed paths with. If it wasn't for them I really wouldn't have learned some of life's lessons and also things about myself. In some way or another, each one of them have impacted my life and I would just like to say...thank you.

Hellagant Fashion Show

This past Saturday was Hellagant's one year anniversary fashion show. I got asked last minute to model in it. Uhh...yea. Haha A few of my other friends also modeled in it too. The clothes are pretty dope and definitely something I'd wear. They showed Fall 08' and Spring 09'. Both are dope, but I can't wait for their spring line to come out!! The models who are wearing the spring line walk out to N.E.R.D...just so you know.

Last Saturday I attended my high school's Blue & White Ball. I believe it started in 1994 and my parents have been going ever since. The only reason I went was because they were honoring my varsity volleyball coach, Ann Stluka. I realized it's actually a great fundraiser and I'd actually want to encourage former students to attend.

I've known Stluk's since I was probably in 5th or 6th grade when my sister played for her. She retired about a year or two after I graduated high school but she's honored for her great coaching. She brought South City's team to CCS almost every year and in the 80's she brought the team to CCS championships 4 out of 5 years. One year she also brought them to win state championships. My sister, who also played for her, made it to CCS against Archbishop Mitty High School where she played against Kerri Walsh who is now an Olympic gold medalist. Stluks was also in the hall of fame at SF State, San Mateo County, and Northern California when she played.

After feeling like the youngest person there, I found so me of my teammates!

Do you have those playlists that you can always listen to? For example, I have my 'recent hype' for the most recent mainstream songs. So I actually made the first half of this posting last night right after Obama got elected. In Obama's speech, he talked about the lady that voted who was over 100 years old. He mentioned all the events that she has witnessed in her lifetime and then it made me think about our parents. If you think about it, our parents witnessed a lot too. Our parents didn't grow up with microwaves, computers or cell phones. Their TVs were still in black and white. My mom grew up working in a family owned laundry mat. And my dad grew up in a small city in Oregon. You have to drive on a dirt road to get there. Now look at their lives now. I must say, those baby boomers got to witness a lot in their lifetime.

Life's Lessons

Note: This is more personal than I usually write, but PLEASE don't take it personally. I know it can take a journey to be where you are in life now.

B came over yesterday so he could borrow a dress for Halloween (yea, he's going to be a girl). We got to catching up and talking about things going on in our lives. Relationships, finding ourselves, friends, gossip, etc.

The first thing we talked about of course had to do with relationships. We started talking about how guys don't realize that by NOT telling the truth, they're hurting girls even more. Now don't get me wrong. Sometimes a girl needs to stand up for her own and be the one to end things, but right now I'm just talking about dudes. For example, if a girl and guy were talking or dating and the guy just suddenly realizes he's just not that into her, most guys tend to just stop calling or will disappear. The girl of course will wonder what's going on and wonder what she did wrong. That's just ONE example. So for you guys, JUST SUCK IT UP, BE A MAN AND TELL HER THE TRUTH. Even if she takes it hard, it'll be easier for her in the long run instead of being dragged along and confused. And girls, if you need someone to be blunt about guys and situations, read "He's Just Not That Into You".

That of course led on to "people need to learn to just be honest with themselves". Next example, if you haven't read Rach's blog titled "Single white female", you need to read it before you finish reading this one unless you've actually seen the movie (which i still haven't done). My thoughts to add on to what Rach said is that people that do things like that don't know who they are or accept who they are. People that aren't honest with themselves aren't honest with others. You shouldn't care what others think and should feel comfortable who you are. Find yourself. And just because someone is responsible doesn't mean they're emotionally mature. Realize what it is you're doing and admit your emotions. I hate people that say they're over their ex or they don't care when they really aren't. I see right through the people that say that. Another example is just breaking up with someone. If you're not over it, admit that you're not over it. This is something I don't understand about guys. Most guys I know meet another girl before they start getting over their ex. I understand sometimes meeting someone new is all in fun, but for those that get into relationships right after, how do you start having feelings for another girl when you still have feelings for your ex? I know everyone has their own opinion about things and handles things differently, but i see no reason to lie to yourself. Just don't front.

I've come a long way and been through enough shit to learn and have a different outlook on things. And in the last couple years I've learned more about myself than I have known in a long time. I may not know exactly what it is I want to do with my life career wise, but I know the things I'm interested in and what it is I want to dip my toes into (I'm into way too many different things). I still may not be the best at confrontation, but when it happens I'm not afraid to speak my mind. I don't care what people think and I'm enjoying MY life.

Stupid Drivers

Okay. For those of you that don't know, all my pet peeves have to do with driving.

I hate stupid ass drivers. Here are some things that stupid drivers should pay attention to.

_When going under 60 miles per hour, STAY IN THE RIGHT LANE. They don't call it the
SLOW LANE for nothing.

_BE AWARE IF THERE'S A CAR BEHIND YOU. Here are a couple reasons why.
-If you're stopping and going in the middle of the street because you can't find an address
or something and there's a car behind you, they're probably going to get irritated. To be
considerate, PULL THE FUCK OVER.
-And when you decide to pull over, PUT YOUR FUCKING BLINKER ON.
Which leads me to my next point.

_SIGNAL DAMNIT! Car's have blinkers for a reason; to let other drivers know that you are
planning to switch lanes. If you're in traffic and you need to switch lanes, don't just signal
when there's suddenly an opening. Put your damn blinker on and let people know you need to
get through.

And the biggest one of all...

_DON'T SPRAY YOUR DAMN WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID ON THE DAMN FREEWAY
WHEN THERE'S A CAR BEHIND YOU! You spray it and it gets on the car behind
you. That's just plain RUDE! Especially when that car just got a car wash!

Meet Jeramie, the man behind the markers.

Like I said before, Jeramie uses markers for his art. I must say he's starting to have a theme or trade mark. When he first started working on pieces a couple years ago, he had one piece that I believe caught everyone's attention. It was of a woman with big hair, head band and glitter eye shadow. I must say it has to be one of my favorite pieces ever. And now most of these pieces are part of that theme.

I'm thinking about buying the bottom left one for my apartment, but we'll see what else he has at home!

Jordan Countdown Pack III's and XX's

Fleet Week

Last week the homies and I went to Fleet Week in the Marina. We grabbed some Little Lucca sandwiches and headed out to watch the Blue Angels. Unfortunately we missed the Snowbirds who are from Canada. They do tricks and things like the Blue Angels, but instead of six planes, they have 10! I know I sound like a dork getting all excited about airplanes, but there's a reason!

The Blue Angels to me are a memory of my childhood. Ever since I can remember, my dad has always been into airplanes. He even learned how to fly when he was younger. So I grew up watching planes. For some reason I always wanted to do things my dad did, so I was even considering joining the Airforce after high school. But because I didn't have 20/20 vision I knew I wouldn't be able to fly a fighter plane. Haha I took a crap load of pictures to show my dad since he couldn't make it down to the Marina. The night I showed him the pictures I told him we should get Blue Angels tattoos. Haha He also watched some of the videos and could name some of the tricks they did!

In San Francisco there are a bunch of random hearts scattered around the city with different designs on them. Like the one in my first picture that says "Vote". In the Marina there are a bunch of these globes. I didn't get a chance to look at all of them. But here's one of them!

I've been lagging on this, but I went on a cruise last month. I was kind of lazy to post pictures, but here's a few for your enjoying pleasure. If you're my friend on Myspace, then you can view more.

We flew down to San Diego where the cruise was leaving from. We got there early and had some time to kill, so my friend Rachel suggested that we go to a place called Hash House a go go and have breakfast. She warned me that the portions were huge and called them "stacks on crack!" Haha And was she right!

This picture is taken from Karl's iphone...and it's not photoshopped or anything! The portions are just plain HUGE!

Carnival Cruise-Elation

These were our waiters, Iwayan and Jerry. They're pretty dope and Jerry told us about his family. He's from the Philippines and he has about 4 kids I believe. If you think about it, it's kind of sad. These workers are on the ship, away from their homes and family for about 6 months straight. Jerry talked to us about hoping to retire once his two youngest kids graduate from college so he can go back to Manila. I hope he does so he can enjoy spending some time with his kids.

On the way to Cabo...We ended up taking a little tour and got dropped off at Lover's Beach (around the corner is Divorce Beach). We tried snorkeling out there, but the waves were kind of strong so we didn't want to go too far out.

But it was beautiful...

Did I mention there's a Hooters there?

Birthday Balloons

Almost exactly a year ago, I gave my sister one of those big helium balloons for her birthday. About 7 months later, she got it refilled with helium and gave it back to my for my birthday. So I was stuck with this balloon deflating in my room since March.

I went to get it refilled today. It's about that time to give it back to her. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEEDEE!!

(One of my friends called it "The sisterhood of the traveling balloon" Haha)

Olympics: Beach Volleyball

For those of you that don't know me, I love volleyball. I played for awhile and so I was excited to watch the Olympics gold metal match for beach volleyball. Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor have to got be the best team around. My mom told me that when I was little, my sister got to play against Kerri Walsh in high school. From what my sister said Kerri Walsh was the 2nd best outside hitter in the nation during that time. Crazy.

Last night I watched the USA team (Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor) play China for the gold metal. Might I say...they played pretty damn good in the RAIN. Not only are they now two time gold medalists but have won the last 108 consecutive games.
